__Il Mercante di Pietre__
Il Mercante di Pietre [also known as The Stone Merchant] - 2006
Directed and produced by Renzo Martinelli
Visual Effects by Lumiq Studios, Turin, Italy
December 2006. Turin. Lumiq Studios. 2nd floor. Sunday.
"It's been 2 month since we started working 6/7 days per week plus evenings. but we're almost done. or, al least, we HAVE to be done soon.... the dead line is very, very close."
This Martinelli's movie is quite interesting from the VFX point of view. We had this ferry to blow up, lots of cars inside the ferry, an underwater scene with bubbles and all those sea stuff, an airplane flying in the night, the Torino's Mole to rebuild, a mobile phone to make fall and break (couldn't they just use a REAL one???), some legs to track (...) and something more that right now i cant remember.
I worked on models, textures, scene optimization, uvs, shaders. Pretty fun work. We could see the Alpes and airplanes almost landing from the studio's windows, but the canteen sucked.
The movie was out on Fall 2006. My name was, for the first time, in the end titles of a movie!! ^___^
